Girl Scout Leader receives Volunteer Award

Kelsey, leader of Daisy Troop 36870 and Brownie Troop 36756 in Mercer, was presented with the Volunteer of Excellence Award at the Troops' meeting on Tuesday, January 12, 2019.  As Kelsey’s Girl Scouts and those who volunteer with her know, Kelsey truly is an excellent volunteer.  

A graduate of the Mercer County Career Center and employee of the Mercer Area School District, Kelsey was a member of Girl Scout Troop 30609 in Mercer, is a Lifetime member of GSUSA, and, as a Girl Scout, earned her Gold Award.  In addition to currently leading two troops in Mercer, Kelsey assists with Cadette Troop 36324 and Senior/Ambassador Troop 30094, and is the secretary of the Mercer Area Girl Scout Service Unit.  She also organizes educational events for the local Girl Scouts and the Mercer County Girl Scouts.  In the summer of 2018 she returned to Trefoil Trails Girl Scout Day Camp to lead a Daisy unit for the week, the same Girl Scout Day Camp that she volunteered at while she was a Girl Scout.
