Troop 36324's last meeting this month fell on Thinking Day and, thanks to technology, they had a video call with a Troop of older Girl Guides, the Steadfast Rangers, ages 14-18 from Bristol, England, then Girl Scouts of all ages from several different Troops in Seneca Falls, NY. They also tried Vegemite from Australia, as that is their country for Thinking Day.
During the video call the Mercer Scouts learned that Girl Guide Law is very different than the Girl Scout Law and that they also have Brownie Scouts in the UK but the youngest scouts are called Rainbows. Also the Guide uniforms are much more casual than what the Girl Scouts wear. Thank you to the World Association of Girl Guide and Girl Scouts for making this experience possible! |
