Welcome to the 2010-2011 Scouting Year!

It appears that we have quite a few new Daisy and Brownie Girl Scouts this year in addition to our returning Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts.

Some of the activities that are coming up for our Service Unit (that means all of the Girl Scout Troops in Mercer) are:
  • Collecting eyeglasses for the less fortunate during the month of October
  • The Fall Nut and Magazine sale which starts Oct. 1
  • A Party celebrating Juliette Gordon Low's 150th birthday near the end of Oct.
Some of the Troop activities that established Troops already have planned for the fall include:

  • Horseback Trail Riding
  • The High Ropes Course at Camp Singing Hills
  • Volunteering at Cuyahoga Valley National Park
  • Attending Silver and Gold Award Workshops
  • Finishing the Sow What? Girl Scout Senior Harvest Award Project
  • A bus trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo to learn about Oil Spills at the Aquarium
  • Learning CPR
It looks like a fun-filled fall already!  Troop leaders will be providing their Troop members with information about the Service Unit events once they get it from the event organizers.
